Los Santos (the city in the video game GTA V) is the perfect example of every single bad urban design that this channel talks about
Main Post:
Every single street in GTA is a "stroad" (man that video about stroads was on point)
There are no biking paths
Streets are poorly laid out so even though the city is only 3 km wide, it takes a long time to get from one end to the next
A lot of urban sprawl and American style suburbs
Roads and parking lots cover 80% of all land area because apparently, every building needs to have car access
No roundabouts, no grade separation, which means streetlights at every road, even in quiet residential areas
Unreliable and slow public transit
Super bad traffic and lots of traffic accidents
I mean the entire point of GTA V is making fun of and parodying real-life Los Angeles, so I guess they nailed that especially with how the city is designed. It perfectly displays every problem that resulted from the urban planning of Los Angeles. I am in Canada and never visited Los Angeles, but even I know about the terrible traffic in Los Angeles since it is as well known as part of that city's culture as Hollywood.

Funny enough, I've been playing GTAV again and challenging myself to bike as much as possible, whether for main missions and side missions. It feels safer than real life since the cars are so slow and also soothing, since the few times an NPC driver has hit me, I hunt them down.
